Process (SOP) Training
Core processes are the framework by which organizations develop, sell, produce and monitor their products and services. For most organizations, these processes and their supporting sub-processes are often monitored and analyzed as part of continuous improvement efforts; which can result in minor adjustments, major improvements, or total re-engineering of the process.
Regardless of the result, i3Logic recommends that a learning strategy be in place to prepare performers to use the revised or new process. A typical process-related learning strategy covers:
- Why the process needs to change
- What has changed and how it is going to impact specific performers
- How will the revised/new process be implemented
- How the process will be measured to ensure it is positively impacting business results
- An overview of the process and its relationship to other core processes
- Detailed description of the process by job role/function
- Standard operating procedures or work instructions
- Job Aids and templates
i3Logic has extensive experience developing learning strategies for new or revised processes. Our learning plans utilize a blended learning approach and often include:
- Web-based training to introduce the need for change and the impact on the organization and the performers; often includes video or audio messages from key leaders
- Web-based training to provide an overview of the process, its relationship to other core processes, and specific measures that will be used to measure impact on business results
- Web-based or instructor-led training to cover:
› Process by job role/function
› Standard operating procedures
› Work instructions - Tests for comprehension
- Proficiency level simulations
- Online user guides
- Coaching from SMEs
